ORAL SURGERY

Oral Surgery includes the diagnosis of possible intra-oral abnormalities, removal of impacted wisdom teeth or other difficult extractions and "simple" biopsies.

Also included in the practice of oral surgery are those surgeries required for root canal cases, pre-prosthetic (before placing of dentures) surgery and placement of implants.

Dr. Marc Schachter, an oral surgeon, is on our staff and available to serve you. Dr. Schachter's services run the gamut from "simple" to extremely difficult extractions. One example of the latter is a completely-bony impacted third molar wisdom tooth extraction.

Your general dentist is always looking for problems in your mouth which might require oral surgery. You can participate in your oral health care by watching for the following symptoms. They may indicate that you can benefit from an oral surgery procedure.

  • You have sustained an injury to your mouth and/or teeth.
  • You are interested in implants as an alternative to dentures.
  • You have a dying nerve in one of your teeth.
  • You have an abscess of one of your teeth or in your gum tissue.
  • You have impacted third molars (wisdom teeth).
  • You don't have enough room for your permanent teeth.

If you are experiencing these or any other dental problem, please let us know (845-336-5252) so that we may suggest the best treatment for you.
