BONDING

Bonding involves molding materials directly onto your teeth, so it can be used either to rebuild part of a tooth or to attach other materials, such as veneers.

Teeth are chemically etched and then an adhesive material is applied. One such commonly used material is composite resin. Both elastic and durable, resin combines strength with the appearance of ceramic.

Bonding is relatively inexpensive as a cosmetic procedure. It allows for a polished finish and helps to keep teeth intact. Bonding may be used to repair chipped teeth and to close unsightly gaps between your teeth. It can also cover unattractive staining on your teeth.

Ask your dentist to explain whether bonding is an option for you toward smile enhancement.
